USA's Wednesday Comics: 28/08/2013

The summer is ending! Or at least the summer holidays, that's a shame we all know, however the new semester will bring a lot of surprises in comic's world... Yeah, I also prefer less surprises and more holidays, buuuuuut life is hard. Let's start!
DC have a couple of specials to end up with August, one about American Vampire and another of the Batman Incorporated's series, caution this last one is not written by Grant Morrison so get off your expectations. My personal recomendation is the second issue of Collider, renamed with no aparent reason as FBP, an attempt to camouflage the second issue as a novelty in order to rise the sells? I do not care at all, the first issue was quite interesting so go for it!

Marvel have this month the first Marvel Now's series  cancelled, good bye Journey Into Mystery, it was not a bad series nevertheless the great amount of competitors have taken it to the lowest part of the top sellers list... Such a pitty. The rest have plenty good things to offer, as always do not miss anything written by Hickman, all is good at least (when not fucking great) also Uncanny Avengers is becoming a series to take into account. Marvel is really good this days, you have plenty to choose.

In Image we have a little few titles, in my opinion Lazarus and Sex are your best options, they are both very good.

And that's all, have a nice day. You know what to do now.*

USA's Wednesday Comics: 21/08/2013

Hey there! Here we go again, let's see what's new this week !!
In DC comics there are few new things, 100 Bullets Spin off's miniseries continues and we have a new series located in the Batman Beyond Universe, and which take its name. Kyle Higgins and Thony Silas will be in charge in the second series in that universe which seems to be surprisingly popular in the States. Looking at the others, nothing really interesting Wonder Woman and Superman Unchained are my bets.

On the other side Marvel have a really interesting week with interesting titles, don't miss Avengers, Superior Spider-man and all the x-men titles this week all are pretty cool. The one that will fall off my read-list is Nova, which facing so many creative changes is going to suffer of instability for some time, so as my reading list is quite long I prefer to wait and see how this all ends up before catching up again.

This week in Image I have little to say, only that the only title I follow is Bounce and in this moment is not really bad nor really brilliant so... Make your choice.

And thats all, you know what to do now*

USA's Wednesday Comics: 7/8/2013

Hello everyone! It's the beginning of a new month, the last of the comic's year, like school a new stage begins in September, so let's see how it ends!
In DC comics we have a sad farewell, Dial H is cancelled, despite the good critics of the series, the sells have remained low and at DC comics if you do not sell, you got cancelled. Sad but true. On the other hand, we have a brand new Vertigo's mini series by one of the great talents of DC today, Jeff Lemire acting as complete author of Trillium a science fiction / horror story with a love story inside. Two time lines, one located on Earth in 1921 and the other one in the far future in a planet far away, two adventurers that will fall in love in a love story which can be the last love story of history! Sold!

Marvel continues with the summer wave of new titles, Superior Foes of Spider-man was both quite funny and inconsequential, perfect for a summer afternoon. Avengers A.I on the contrary was, in my modest opinion, quite boring and absolutely unnecessary.Among the rest of titles stand out, Avengers (all hail Hickman!), the Iron Man's secret origin by Kieron Gillen is also quite good, Superior Spider-man is better than most would like to admit and X- Factor is about 2 issues to end! Make your choice!

Image as usual offers a new set of comics. First a short mini series Burn The Orphanage Born To Lose in which an orphan will seek for vengeance, in the description appears something about stripper ninjas, I must take a look to this.  The other new series by the consacrated author J.M Straczysnki is offering a superhero style story centered in the figure of the sidekick, specifically in what happens when the main superhero ends up dead. The public barely tolerated the sidekick before, but now that he is alone? Now is time to make fun of the ridiculous sidekick, his personal hell have started. Besides the new title check out the veteran series which this months land into the shelves, high quality titles like Prophet, Manhattan Projects, Fatale and Ten Grand. Oh! And do not forget to check out the secon issue of the fantastic Sheltered series, it will be the source of much talk in the future.

And that's all. You know what to do now ;) *
